My Must-Haves for Traveling

"I feel like I'm forgetting something" - every person at least once in their life.

Packing for a trip can be really overwhelming. Socks, underwear, bras? Especially if you're an overpacker like I used to be. Thankfully I've learned how to downsize to just a carry on when I travel. When I'm leaving for a trip instead of stressing out I just make sure I have my passport, money, and my phone. The rest you can replace or buy but those are the most important things. I decided to compile a list of my must-haves while traveling and some things I like to bring that make my trip a bit better so lets go!

DJI Mavic Mini 2-

The most important thing I pack besides my passport (for obvious reasons) is my drone. This was probably my favorite purchase I've made, 100% worth the investment. The mini is light weight so you can easily fit it in your backpack/carry on. Also because its so small you don't need to register it or get a license. The camera is also 4k so your guaranteed quality shots.

Vlog Camera-

Ive actually been using my iPhone for vlogging lately because the quality is just as good and its easier to record things faster while traveling but I love my Sony ZV-1. Its light weight and used by many other creators, that's how I found out about it. I love having my camera to capture my travel moments.

JBL Clip Speaker-

This was a recent discovery on how much a speaker would come in handy while traveling. My recent trip to Costa Rica I used my speaker every single day. At night when we had fires I would be using my speaker for the party. I also would use it if I was just walking down the beach. I love that this speaker has a clip so I can easily clip it onto my backpack or anything really and not worry about it. Great find!

Shampoo Kit-

Ok I may be a bit spoiled with this one but I love the pre made travel kits that have everything in it from combs to tooth brushes and shampoo. Its just really convenient and everything is already travel size. The only issue I run into is if I'm staying at a place longer than a month and run out of shampoo.

Cash-

Cash is super important because sometimes you might find yourself in a place where they dont take card and its the worst feeling. Always bring some cash from home incase you have trouble finding an atm. Also when you pay for Taxi's it'll most likely be cash. I also travel with two credit cards and leave one at home at all times incase my stuff gets stolen I'll never not have money to get home.

Deck of Cards-

This is another thing that's fairly new to me but I love it. I travel with a deck of cards because you never know who you'll meet or if you're hanging with friends you guys can always have a drink and play some cards. In hostels its worked out really well having a pack of cards on me, friends from other countries have also taught me new games which is fun!

Travel Journal-

I bought the cheapest little journal at a gas station in Bali and now that thing is my most prized possession. Every day when I'm traveling I write a little entry about my day and what I'm doing. Over the months you can go back and read them, its the coolest feeling. You see how much things change and how you forget little details so its nice to write about them and keep them for memories. One day maybe my kids can read the journals.

Towel-

If you're staying in a hostel you might want to bring a towel because some hostels dont have any or there will be a small fee to rent a towel. I dont usually bring one but im going to start because once I didn't have one and had to air dry (lol). They have quick drying towels made specifically for traveling.

Hoodie/Jacket-

Even if im going to a warm climate I love to have a little jacket to wear for comfort whether its in the room or for the plane. Some tropical places can get chilly at night so its better to be careful than cold. I wear my heaviest clothes on the plane and layer up so I can fit more in my carry on.

Book-

I usually have 2-3 books in my backpack even if I dont read them which drives me crazy but at least I have them in case! I've been better about reading this year so I'm working on it but a book is a great way to relax and wind down after a long day.

Although some of these things might not apply to you, its always interesting to hear what people like to bring to give you some ideas. Those are just a few things I thought of at the top of my head. Let me know what your must-haves are, I'd love to hear!
