So you're booking a trip and you can't decide between hotels or hostels. Let's chat about the pros and cons of both so maybe you can get a better understanding.
One reason I personally love Hostels is because they are great for solo travelers. You can make so many friends and meet like minded people who care about traveling as much as you. Ive met some of the most inspiring people at hostels, they've kept me going on my dreams. Some hostels hold actives like yoga or group tours which can be nice to do if you're traveling solo. If you're a female you might want to book an all female dorm, I personally always pick those when I have the option just because I feel more comfortable and men can sometimes snore too loud. The cons are that you lack privacy and share amenities. Sometimes the rooms are shared from anywhere between 4-12 people usually its 6 though. Depending on the location hostels are amazing and you can save a lot of money. If you're wondering where to book hostels the most known sites are https://www.hostelworld.com and https://www.booking.com. I personally love Hostel World because its a site entirely for Hostels with great reviews from other travelers.
Hotels are great if you want some privacy especially if you are with a boyfriend or girlfriend. It's always nice having cleaners come and clean the room. Hotel beds are also a lot more comfortable. However if you are traveling solo it can make it difficult to meet people such as solo travelers. Hotel rooms usually range from $80-$150 a night while hostels are anywhere between $8-$60 so you can travel longer and spend less which is always nice right!
It all comes down to what you're looking for and willing to spend. If you haven't tried a hostel I really recommend trying it once.
